As I put together this spring newsletter, the calendar is saying Spring, but we have all been complaining that it just doesn’t seem to want to come this year… we are of sturdy stock to survive our long Maine winters! In the months of April—June, we encourage you to join us for some of our usual activities, such as Line Dancing, Tai Chi, the Book Club or Bridge…but don’t come alone—bring a friend! We have a few great trips scheduled on our Standish Recreation vans– just an opportunity to celebrate some great Maine destinations. If you are looking for a fun way to celebrate the Easter season with the “little children” in your lives, join us on Saturday, April 12th for the Breakfast with the Easter Bunny…. Or just come on your own and enjoy a good homecooked pancake breakfast! Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the Standish Summer Spectacular on June 26th——June 28th…. We’ll be celebrating the rich history of the three villages that make up the community—Steep Falls, Sebago Lake Station and Standish Corner with a theme of “Celebrating Freedom”. As we like to say in the Parks and Recreation profession—”the benefits are endless”, so please stay active with us!
